FFWD / RWD
EXHIBITION
From yesterday to today, the exhibition FFWD/REW presents a partial and biased point of view on the vitality of the video, its history and development, its pioneers and their heirs.
Liège occupies a special place in this panorama, because since the 1970s the local art institutions and artists have engaged in a dazzling activity in the video landscape, which is constantly changing.
For FFWD/REW carte blanche was given to curator Dominique Castronovo, who teaches video at the ESAL/Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège.
With: Capitaine Lonchamps, Jacques Charlier and Claude Delfosse, Leo Copers, Ronald Dagonnier, Nicolas Dufranne, Lili Dujourie, Filip Francis, Michel François, Johan Grimonprez, Jacques Lennep, Jacques Lizène, Emilio Lopez-Menchero, Michel Lorand, Messieurs Delmotte, Jacques Louis et Danièle Nyst, Hans Op De Beeck, Ria Pacquée, Pol Pierart, Nicolas Provost, Frank Theys, Jan Vromman.
On view also documents and installations made for the event Artistic propositions for a closed television circuit (Galerie Yellow Now, Liège, 1971) and a compilation of Vidéographie, a series of broadcasts by the RTBF-Liège.
With the support of Liège-Province-Culture, ESAL-Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Liège and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
