PASSAGES. LA PHOTOGRAPHIE DANS L’ART VIDÉO CONTEMPORAIN
EXHIBITION - SPECIAL EVENT
Passages is an exhibition in three parts that concerns the dia- lectic between photographic and moving images in contemporary video art. As such, it explores critical reflections on current issues such as globalization and environment, identity, history and memory. The researchers Alexander Streitberger, Brianne Cohen and Jana Haeckel curated a selection of video works from the Argos collection for Louvain- la-Neuve. With contributions by, among others, Andrea Geyer, Ken Kobland, Els Opsomer, Walid Ra’ad, Shelly Silver and Sarah Vanagt.
Passages – La photographie dans l’art vidéo contemporain is an initiative by the research project ‘Photofilmic Images in Contemporary Art and Visual Culture’ at UCL and the Lieven Gevaert Research Centre for Photography (LGC) in collaboration with Argos. It is supported by the FNRS, UCL Culture, and the Centre culturel d’Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve.
