FABIO WUYTACK

In 1999 Wuytack was awarded a grant to go and explore his fascination for sculpting in the Tuscan city of Carrara, the Mecca of marble sculpting, where he grew up. His sculptural work was awarded, among others, during the international symposium of Bas-Normandie. In 2000 he decided to gain more in-depth knowledge of another fascination of his: film. He studied at the high school of arts Sint-Lukas in Brussels. The subject matter of his first cinematic work has much ground in common with the world of the visual arts, dance and music. From 2002 he specialises mainly in documentaries, often with an autobiographical slant. His work has been shown and awarded at places like the international documentary film festival Visions du Réel in Nyon and the Cannes festival, as well as on Belgian and British TV networks."
