UNFAMILIARISED FAMILIARITIES [NUIT BLANCHE PARIS, PUBLIC AND FREE-ACCES EVENT. DAZIBAO PROJECT, UNIVERSITÉ PIERRE ET MARIE CURIE]
SCREENING
Nuit Blanche Paris is an annual event devoted to the rediscovery of the city of Paris through the eyes and the imagination of a wide variety of artists. National museums, galleries, county halls and other public buildings open theirs doors for a long night. For the Dazibao Project, taking place in the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, argos compiled a programme of five idiosyncratic video works (by Michel François, Stéphanie Hamaide, Cel Crabeels, Bernard Gigougnon, Emily Vey Duke & Cooper Battersby). Each work pays attention to everyday objects and bodies in its own, unparalleled way. Like a raw material, grade zero of reality, they are subjected to a disorganising close reading or manipulated on screen. These five visions of real-time sculpting through images contain as many mental explorations.
