IN GEFAHR UND GRÖSSTER NOT BRINGT DER MITTELWEG DEN TOD
Frankfurt, 1974. It's Carnival time. Two women live independently in the same city. One is called Inge Maier and she is a prostitute. The other is Rita Mueller-Eisert and she is a DDR-spy who must report her officers about the life in the Federal Republic. While Inge is sleeping with the police vice president, Rita sees that the police forcibly evicts students from occupied buildings. Thanks to the edited fictional and reportage footages, In Gefahr und größter Not bringt der Mittelweg den Tod (In Danger and Dire Distress the Middle of the Road Leads to Death) reminds the style of documentaries and destabilizes the genre.
