IRA COHEN "CURFEW"
Curfew was originally created as a cinematic setting for a live performance with poet, artist, photographer and performer Ira Cohen (1935-2011) and Erich Sleichem. The silent film of over twenty minutes is an ode to Ira Cohen and reflects Cohen’s world and his worldview through the eyes of Daniel Mangeon (aka Hänzel & Gretzel). Photographs and moving images alternate with fragments of text. Though the film is without narrative, it has a linear and chronological structure. Biographic elements from Cohen’s life blend with elements from Mangeon’s life.
