A.U.B. / S.V.P.

In his early work a.u.b. / s.v.p., Emilio López-Menchero positioned the camera next to the passport control gates at Brussels National Airport. The video is an observation of the flow of people through the gates and their similar, or better said almost identical, behaviours when they face the authorities who mechanically checks the documents and let them go further. Between inspection of a common gesture and investigation of time, the artist faces us to the absurdity of daily protocols.
