WORLD BEAUTIES

World Beauties was a large project, its purpose was a synthesis of the 20th century, interwoven with questions about feminism and femininity, brought together in four individuals. The first phase was a special evening, the opening of an installation exhibition with loads of neon-lines, among other things. Four conspicuous women were asked to hand out cards, not knowing the reason. A cameraman registered all this, which was shown on a TV-screen for the 2nd phase. This phase was a video, recorded from a static viewpoint, and registering an improvisation by the four women of different nationalities in front of those TV-screens. Polaroids of the shooting were combined into large blocks. Finally a complete action in its own specific frame was filmed on video.
