SLOW OBJECT 01

This work is the first in a series of video pieces in which the artist uses everyday objects and phenomena to create poetic tranpositions that incline toward the spiritual. ‘Slow Object 01’ shows the slow-motion travel of air across a white cloth stretched over a non-functioning fireplace in the French castle of Chambord. This piece revelates the full poetic power of Dekyndt’s minimalistic interventions – self invented measuring instruments that reveal an enchanted dimension to the alienating everyday.
