TEREZIN

A collage of photographs showing nude women holding their hands before their sexes. The images have been digitally enhanced. The soundtrack contains German religious music.

"Beginning of the project Sex and Technology. Re-use of the image of women in one particular mass-medium: the nude-press. Terezin uses women who cover their sex whilst looking at the one that looks. This I connect with own images of Theresienstadt, Czech Republic. I confront esthetisation of past terror with insinuation of temptation , two underground numbing-systems that maintain distance and marginalisation of deephuman stirrings of the soul in advantage of some kind of profitariat of desire. I asked a friend to sing a cantate van J.S. Bach: “Wer nur den lieben Gott läszt walten” three times, I mixed these three versions onto each other." (AMVK)
