MUURWERK

In ‘Muurwerk’ we see the confrontation of a dancer with a limited space. A wall constitutes the limits to Huilmand’s movements, and governs the way she moves. She tries to escape from the wall only to return time and time again. In its own way the camera wants to break with the dimensional wall. The editing is jumpy. The close-ups of hands and feet tear the enforced limitations of the space apart. Dancer and film-maker are engaged in the same struggle against the wall.
