ER LIGT EEN VIDEO IN DE SOEP
An overview of the history of video art till 1983. Unconventional in style and international in scope, the work presents an overview of artists and independents working in television. Excerpts of tapes, installations and interviews are introduced through playful use of sophisticated graphics. Its creators explain that even though machines are felt to be "anti-culture" and are seen as "angry opponents to the spirit of poetry", the program finds its substance in the technology, serving a "screen-wide’ plate with art from television, or television from art."
