FESTIVAL
We are proud that Argos is presenting a program of recent and new works at the 63th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen with contributions from four artists in its collection and distribution. Teresa Cos, Peter Downsbrough, Ira A. Goryainova and Eric Pauwels are participating with highly personal and engaged video works that question our position in nowadays societies.
PROGRAM:
Teresa Cos, Astrology of a Friday, 2016, 10'30"
This film was shot in the General Assembly Room of the Province of Limburg’s Government Building, where on the 7th of February 1992 the signing ceremony of the Treaty on European Union (the Maastricht Treaty) took place.
Ira A. Goryainova, Die Ruinen von Europa, 2016, 47'16"
Die Ruinen von Europa follows a young Parisienne, a real, nowadays Ophelia/Elektra, as portrayed in Heiner Müller’s apocalyptic play Die Hamletmaschine (1977) which forms the leading path through this unsettling, dark, thought-provoking, doomy meditative trip.
