ENQUÊTE: COMMENT LIBÉRER LES ARTISTES LIBRES?

Between 2002 and 2004 Angel Vergara interviewed a series of figures from the Belgian art scene. He asked them what they understood to be the freedom of the artist. Some answers were rather short, while others resulted in longer conversations. The project developed out of collaboration with Benoît Eugène. The recordings were distributed through the website www.walkingvoice.tv, which was launched that same year by Piere Clemens, Michel Clerbois, André Goldberg, Emilio Lopez-Menchero and Angel Vergara. As a preface to the series, it includes a recording of a performance in the Kunsthalle in Freiburg where Vergara delivered a lecture, dressed as a soldier, as part of a multidisciplinary installation.
