ALGA MARGHEN LABEL NIGHT #2 - AN ILLUSTRATED INTRODUCTION IN ALGA MARGHEN RECORDS: EMANUELE CARCANO IN DISCUSSION WITH IVE STEVENHEYDENS

Argos archived the catalogue of Alga Marghen. A discussion between Emanuele Carcano and Ive Stevenheydens focuses on the roots, current position and future opportunities of the label. The evening tries to sketch out an historical perspective on the ideas, legacy and context of the so called sonic avant-garde and the revolving experimental music scenes since World War II. Sonic art versus sound art, the role of the object in sound and music culture, 'obscurity', 'sound poetry', 'fluxus' and 'mixed media' are just some of the concepts and key terms that will be discussed in a vivid presentation that includes snippets of sound- and image material of the Alga Marghen catalogue, intertwined with loads of juicy anecdotes.
