SI ÇA VOUS ARRIVE CE SOIR

Si ça vous arrive ce soir is a single-channel video installation Wim Catrysse made in 1998. The film focuses on the irregular reflections of faces, which constantly alternate. The reflections are bathing in a dim, ominous light that illuminates the faces from below. The camera moves nervously over this one particular face that seems to wander shyly and anxiously through the ill-lit space. This image every now and then abruptly changes to a second reflection of a man with his mouth wide open, displaying his sharp teeth. It is as if this second man blows dangerously, like a wild cat, towards the first face.
