TORERO / TORPEDO (8 DE MAYO 2005, MARTA HERFORD)

Torero / Torpedo (8 de Mayo 2005, MARTa Herford) is the second video recording of this series of performances. At the occasion of opening of the exhibition (my private) HEROES curated by Jan Hoet, the Belgian curator invited Emilio López-Menchero to perform his biker-torero alter-ego. The museum MARTa conceived by Frank O. Gehry was inaugurated that day, in Herdford, and López-Menchero establishes a dialogue, a sort of artistic corrida, with the exhibited artworks. The loud paso-dobles and his postures form together with his bull-bike a strange fight between this eccentric bullfighter and the unquestionable masterpieces presented at the occasion of the inaugural event.
