GRIMOIRE MAGNÉTIQUE

Grimoire Magnétique is the first musical “video poème” by de La Casinière, in which painting, writing and music are synchronically arranged, according to the rhythm of a deliberate composition. Through a multi-layered combination of TV lay-out and operetta, de La Casinière renders the account of “the life of a saint”, Hallaj al-Mansur, an Islamic mystic and martyr from the 10th century.

The video was partly restored in 1989.
