À MA D'AZIL

The Grotto of Mas-d'Azil is a crossed cavern dug by the river Arize in the French Pyrenees. During the prehistoric and different historic eras, it was inhabited. Furthermore, it's the only European grotto which is accessible by car and the route allowed to discover its first inhabitants such as mammoths, bears and rhinos. Then, prehistoric men settled in the grotto and different archeological researches discovered items, remains, potteries and traces of their activities as well as decorated rooms. Finally, in the 17th century, Protestants hided there too. Charley Case's video is shot in this grotto and is an allegories about the permanence of the cycle of life and nature, but also a reflexion of the relation between the human being and culture.
