STORY OF PERCEPTION - DEBATE ON DOCUMENTA

In 2012 Argos will once more collaborate with Art Brussels. While we present documenta 4-6. Art, Media and the Antinomies of Mega-Art events in our Black Box, we invite some four speakers at the contemporary art fair who hang up an image about the history of documenta and who – most importantly – face the discussion on the importance/nonsense of the event and the different political and economical forces that are in play on the worlds most important contemporary art event. The debate will be moderated by Ann Demeester (director De Appel, Amsterdam). Jan Hoet (1936) who curated documenta IX in 1992 and freelance curator and doctor at the universities of Linz and Vienna Thomas D. Trummer (1967) will lead the discussion. To begin with, Yves Aupetitallot will present the publication of two films of Jef Cornelis on Documenta 4 and Documenta 5 that are being published this year under his editorial guidance.
