ZOOM IN - ZOOM OUT. REALITIES, MEDIA AND MYTHS IN ISRAELI VIDEO ART

SCREENING - BLACK BOX

The program focuses on the way video art in Israel relates to the acute political and psychological realities, and the mental collective structures these realities inform by way of the media and its manipulation of national myths and fears. The violence, the tense regional political arena, its frequent election campaigns, and a developed consumer-oriented culture provide an incredibly rich and colourful platform for content-charged media images.

Curated by Sergio Edelsztein, director of the Centre for Contemporary Art Tel Aviv.
