PIERRE LEGUILLON

Since the early 1990s, Pierre Leguillon works as an artist, curator and critic. He published Sommaire (between 1991 and 1996), and created projects for magazines such as the Journal des Arts, Art Press, and Purple. He has also photographed exhibitions, and in 1993 began using these images in art works that take the form of slideshows. In October 2008, he has operated at the CAPC Bordeaux a franchise of 'La promesse de l’écran' ('The Promise of the Screen'), a screening space and bar initiated in Paris in 2007. His “ready-to-hang” exhibition entitled Pierre Leguillon features Diane Arbus, a Printed Retrospective, 1960–1971' was produced by the Kadist Art Foundation (Paris) and was shown at Moderna Museet in Malmö, Tirana Biennial, CCA in Vilnius, Mercer Union in Toronto… A solo show of his work opened in Mamco, Geneva, in October 2010. His recent 'Non-Happening after Ad Reinhardt', a reenactment of the abstract painter’s slideshows was performed at Maison Rouge, Paris; Raven Row, London; Murray Guy, New York; Stroom Den Haag, among other venues. 'The Great Escape', a one-hour silent performance and exhibition was produced by Musée de la danse, Rennes, in 2012. Pierre Leguillon is currently living in Brussels and teaching at HEAD in Geneva.
