MANUEL SAIZ
For the last forty years Manuel Saiz has worked as a visual artist in art galleries, museums and international film and video art festivals. He has carried out solo projects at the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía in Madrid (One True Art, 2013), at the Tate Gallery in London (Art Summer University, 2008), and at numerous private galleries in Europe. In 1989 he represented Spain at the Sao Paulo Biennial. Since 1995 he has worked mainly on audiovisual projects and multimedia installations. Video Hacking (1998), received an honourable mention at the Hamburger Short Film Festival. Specialized Technicians Required: Being Luis Porcar (2005) won first prize at the Winterthur Kurtztfilm Festival and an honourable mention at Transmediale 06, Berlin. Dead on Arrival (2016) was shown in the experimental section of the Rotterdam Film Festival. Other works have been shown at the ICA in London, the Museum of the Moving Image, NYC, the Oberhausen Film Festival, the European Media Art Festival in Osnabrueck, the London Film Festival, etcetera.
