VIVE LA PEINTURE

In this short conceptual film by the Belgian pioneering video artist, Lennep films himself while he paints. We notice the canvas, the easel, the artist’s palette and his brushes, the artist in profile. However, on the white canvas no contours or colours appear. On the contrary: using simple editing techniques at a given moment the canvas, the frame and the easel disappear! Yet undaunted by this phenomenon and good-tempered the artist continues to paint.
