VIDÉO RELATIONNELLE (1973 - 1974)

This compilation combines short video sequences, recorded in 1974 and 1975 by the CAP collective, making them the first to use video as an artistic medium of expression. Lennep defined their experiments, which they recorded during their spare time at the home of Liège artist Jacques-Louis Nyst, as ‘relational art’: the analysis and unveiling of signifying relationships in art, in an attempt to render reality in a more lucid way. The compilation consists of eleven parts: ‘L’écran’, ‘Les chaussures’, ‘La cible’, ‘La poignée de porte’, ‘L’escargot’, ‘Dialogue avec une caméra’, ‘L’aile en cage’, ‘Composition’, ‘TV réalisme’, ‘Composition triangulaire’ and 'Tapisserie’.
