SCRUB SOLO 2: DISOLOCATION

The first step was a series of slow motion improvisations filmed in semi-obscurity with a super 8 camera. The interaction occurring between dancer and camera, between movement and light, led to a kinetic transformation of the body itself. The second ‘working of time’ took place after digitalisation when the material was manipulated using a technique similar to DJ’s record ‘scratching’, transforming and recreating the movements of the choreography. ’Scrub solo 2’ is a search for ubiquity, understanding that being two may be a remedy to loneliness, but being three or more can lead to self-dislocation… "A search for ubiquity, understanding that being two may be a remedy to loneliness, but being three or more can lead to self-dislocation..." (Antonin De Bemels)
